400D & BYEOS Support

Greetings,

Very excited to start my long journey into AP. I’ve been working with my mentor an he is a die-hard fan of SGP and I can see why after scouring the forums to and fro. However I’ve run into once conundrum, I did not realize that there is no current support for Canon DIGIC II chips. My two quick questions are:

1: Will there be any future support for DIGIC II processors like the one in my Astro-Mod’d Canon 400D?

2: If not: I’ve read through the forums a bunch and have not run into many successes with utilizing BYEOS and SGP simultaneously. I guess what I’m looking for is that “warm-fuzzy” that I’d be able to run SGP for platesolving/tracking etc and BYEOS for snapping, think this is possible?

I’m continuing to dig for answers but I figured this might be a great place to start and pick both the users & developer’s brains as I’m really… really new to this!

For general FYI i’m running:
-Canon 400D astro-mod’d by Hap Griffin
-Astronomix CCD CLS LPF
-Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro
-Skywatcher ESPRIT ED80mm
-Orion 60mm Guidescope w/ SAGPRO Mono

Currently dabbling in software:
-SGP
-BYEOS
-Stellarium
-PHD2
-Cartes du Ciel
-APT
-Photoshop CS6
-DSS

I’m trying to figure out which tools I like best.

I appreciate any inputs/insight!

V/r, Pancho
