APCC Meridian Limits & SGP

In APCC there is a box that says “Send Limit With Offset to SGPro”. Will SGP do an “Auto Meridian Flip” if one of the Meridian Limits is reached in APCC??

the idea here is to set the meridian limit surface in APCC, and not have to set anything in SGP.

on the SGP side you tell it to do a meridian flip but you don’t have to specify a time. what APCC does is whenever the telescope slews, it figures out what the meridian limit is for the new declination, subtracts the flip offset, and sends that value to SGP. this significantly enhances SGP’s behavior, since SGP has only one meridian delay value.

the reason for the flip offset is that you want SGP to be able to finish up what it’s doing and flip the mount before the limit is reached in APCC. although one of the possibilites in APCC is to do a meridian flip when the limit is reached, most of the possible actions either park or stop the mount which would end your imaging session. even if you let APCC flip the mount there’s no guarantee that SGP would recover from the flip on its own (though it stands a reasonable chance if you have recovery mode turned on.)
