As I remember it SGP did let me choose which direction autofocus Went. In my case that was handy since working against gravity resulted in a cleaner “V”.
I cant find that in the new version, am I looking for it at the wrong Place?

I’m not certain, but in the Control Panel -> Focus -> Other settings, you can set the direction and amount of focuser backlash compensation. The direction can be either In or Out. You would never want the V to be taken in the bad direction - so I hope that the direction of the V is slaved to this setting. I think that’s how it works in my setup.
If you see any difference in behavior one way or the other, you should probably enable backlash compensation with some amount of compensation step size - and set the compensation direction so the V goes in the right direction.
