Hope someone can help…
While updating an AP mount related SGP sequence, I received a notice that I needed to update the APCC V2 driver. In the process of doing that, I had to modify some setting in Win-7 in order for my system to accept an ASCOM 6 Platform update as well. All appeared successful. After the obligatory restart, I tried to bring up SGP to complete my sequence update. I received an exception handling fault that I could not bypass; only quit. SGP will not open.
The exception says “ASCOM.Utilities.Exceptions.HelperException: Unable to open ephemeris file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ASCOM\Astrometry\JPLEPH, RC: 1” (The full exception text is pasted below)
I do note that the exception was thrown by ASCOM Utilities but the referenced file “JPLEPH” I’m assuming is related to a plate solving routine, and not associated with ASCOM. For that reason, I’m posting my request on the SGP forum.
I tried reloading SGP to see if that would rebuild the missing file: no luck. And, that is about as technical as I can get - my computer skills are limited.
