Canon EOS 70D: Error in EdsDownloadComplete EDS_ERR_DEVICE_BUSY

I have SGP 2.6.0.23 on my desktop and laptop (both Windows 10). My camera is a Canon EOS 70D.

SGP works flawlessly on my desktop.

However, on my laptop, with exactly the same settings, I get image download errors, usually Error in EdsDownloadComplete EDS_ERR_DEVICE_BUSY but also EDS_ERR_INTERNAL_ERROR.

I can’t dismiss the error dialog and can only quit SGP by killing it through Task Manager. My camera then also hangs, showing “Recording…Remaining images: 1” even after I switch it off. I can only stop this by taking the battery out.

Yes, my camera is in bulb mode. The problem occurs in both Frame and Focus and Sequence modes.

Here’s an extract from my log:

[10/03/17 00:29:59.758][DEBUG] [Canon Download Thread] Canon: Directory Item Requested Transfer

Any help would be greatly appreciated! It’s driving me crazy trying to work out what’s wrong!

EDIT: Tried SGP on another laptop and it was OK. Installed SGP 3 on the problem laptop and…it worked OK. Clearly some specific glitch on one particular machine, which has been stepped over.
