While I completely understand this, do you think you can remove the lens and attempt this just as a data point for us?

I just tried with my 5200 with the lens disconnected and it does not crash.

Hi there, just did a bit more testing with my D4. If I switch both my lens focus setting and the camera focus setting to manual focus I can take an image with the lens attached without the crash. I think the crash is perhaps being caused by the autofocus operating before the shutter opens. Try this Darryn and see what happens.

I also have to have D4 selected in the settings to get a connection having “autoselect” causes a crash on connection. It is still only doing 30second exposures though.
