Dark Subtraction during autofocus

Hi,

I’ve been using SGP for a while now and and very pleased with how it performs. However in the spirit of further improving my results I am wondering whether to start using the option of Dark Subtraction during Auto Focus.

From the Help file I see I need to set-up a library containing some dark frames to match the exposure times that I normally use when autofocusing.

The Help file does not however appear to indicate whether these Dark Frames should also be binned to match the binning level used during auto focus? I assume they should.

And should the dark frames be just a single FITS idark mage or should several be stacked to create a Master Dark?

Has anyone used this feature and did their auto-focus benefir as a result?

Regards

Mike

Mike,
If you hover your cursor over “Apply dark subtraction. Dark library path” the tooltip will give you more instructions.

You need to have a single dark (or master dark) that matches the frame and focus exposures you take, and those darks need to match binning level, exposure time, and camera temp.
