Dome momentarily loses sync with J Now mount after plate solve

Chuck gave me a modified driver - I have started some tests - so far looking good. Fingers crossed!

That’s good. I thought Chuck had retired the Temma driver.

Chuck no longer has a Takahashi Mount - so he cannot test driver / driver modifications…that’s as much as I know.

Hopefully…to finish the thread:

Tonight I have done several solves & syncs and one meridian flip during an imaging session - throughout, the dome stayed with the mount. Looks like the modified driver has done the trick.

For anyone looking back on this thread with a similar problem, I suggest going to Yahoo Takahashi Group and reference this thread: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/UncensoredTakGroup/conversations/messages/64030

Awesome, good to hear! I wonder if he plans (or if its already the case) to open source the driver?

Jared

Unsure, after reading the above. He did say " I haven’t tried (it hasn’t been a problem up till now) to sync without issuing the ‘Z’ command first." … so it obviously is not something people are crying out for. Looks like this is a first…just my luck.
But I am a happy camper now

Hi Jared…

Just got this:

Great News Brendan!! Once again we find that the Temma protocol
translation from Japanese to English leaves a lot to be desired. It
appears a “Z’'” command prior to a sync isn’t as needed as they made me think,
LOL.

I’ve posted an updated installer at http://ccdastro.com/Temma_Setup.exe
