Flat frame question

I am new to SGP. I have a question about pointing my OTA at my flat frame panel. My panel is in a fixed position below the horizon in my observatory. I currently use TSX to point at a fixed Alt/Azm as a “My chart element” and turn off tracking while acquiring flats. I actually have to nudge my mount about 2 degrees west to have good alignment because of it’s proximity to the meridian. If I slew directly to the flat panel, it goes to the other side of the pier which obviously, no where near the panel. I might be able to move the flat panel but not very far do to it’s location in the observatory.

Any suggestions?

i think ALT/AZ pointing is part of the ASCOM spec, so i think you can probably use this script to point the telescope rather than TSX…

since it’s an alt-az command hopefully it would not ever slew to the wrong side of the pier? i have used variants on this script as pre- and post- event scripts to make the telescope point to my flat panel before flat aquisition (and re-start tracking afterward)
