Getting Notifications feature to work

I did read the similar message threads, but I found no joy. Hope you can help.

I have both a Yahoo! and a Gmail account. Neither of them works. Both are configured as follows:

Yahoo! : Correct username/Password, server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com port: 465 SSL: checked
Gmail: Correct username/Password, server: smtp.gmail.com port: 465 SSL: checked

I have (for both applications) disabled 2-factor authentication and allow less secure apps to connect. I have also added rules in Windows 10 to allow ports 465 (and 587, but I’m not using it) through the firewall, both inbound and outbound.

I’d like at least one of the emails to work, but when trying to send a test email, I get: Failure!: Failed to send email.

How can I proceed? I’d really love to enable this feature, it would let me sleep during imaging.

When using gmail, have you tried using port 587?
Here are my settings:
SMTP User: (your gmail email address)
SMTP Password: (your gmail password)
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 587
Use SSL enabled

You are absolutely correct. This works. I had tried it before without success, and I tried it again–guess what, I had a space in my username :frowning: Classic user stupidity problem. For anyone else with Gmail, the above setup works. I have notifications now set up, yay! Sorry for the senior moment.
