Great Success with SGP - M31

I, like most amatuer astronomers, have many images of M31. They suffer from two problems. First, with my scope and camera, I always cut the ends off the galaxy. Second, the brightness of the galaxy makes the hydrogen regions impossible to see. SGP to the rescue.

I have just completes two mosaics, one in H-Alpha (18 hrs.) and one in OSC (15 hrs.) I then used PixInsight’s NBRGB_Combination tool to combine the two mosaics.

I have really pushed the H-Alpha in this image. Because of the image size, you will need to access it on my Dropbox site.

SGP worked flawlessly including many meridian flips.

Excellent! Your processing is very tasteful. The H2 regions stand out beautifully.

SUPER NICE - love the HA inclusion. I’ll have to look up the NBRGB (it’s a new feature?)

Ron, Thanks for sending the extra copies of the “Reflector" for me.
