Help needed please - Gemini SnapCap users

Steve Milne and I operate a remote rig at e-Eye, Spain. We have a chance to secure the equipment on a neighbouring pier and this setup uses a Gemini Snap Cap and SGP.

Whilst checking out the equipment, we noticed that the windows application for the Gemini works well, opening and closing the cap. We would however like to select the Snap Cap’s ascom driver within SGP’s equipment list and so integrate the operation of the Snap Cap rather than rely on a separate task and windows utility. However, there is not an ascom driver listed so we are not able to select the Snap Cap within SGP’s equipment settings. The Alnitak driver is listed though.

Re-installing the Gemini driver does not result in an ascom driver being added to the list. The Gemini website makes reference to an ascom emulator. Another point - as yet we are not able to re-boot the PC after re-installing the Gemini drivers to see if that makes the ascom driver available, perhaps clearing the COM port used by the Gemini Windows utility.

My question for other Gemini Snap Cap users is - what steps do we need to take to install the relevant Gemini ascom driver so we can integrate the Snap Cap in SGP’s equipment list?

Many thanks for any pointers.

Barry & Steve

The SnapCap is supported natively in SGP3.

Thank you,
Jared

Thanks Jared.

The pc controlling the equipment has SGP 2.6 installed - so your advice makes sense.

If we go ahead to purchase the kit we will uograde SGP and will contact you separately about transfering the licence & upgrade.

Many thanks.
