Image Statistics not scaled correctly

I have been using SGP for just a few months.

I understand that SGP is trying to normalize the displayed ADU values to be 0 - 65k (16-bits). In order to do that, SGP must know the range, bit depth, of the camera data. For my setup, I have noticed that the image statistics module is scaling the ADU values by 16x. This implies that SGP thinks my camera data is 12-bits. I am using a Canon 5D Mark III DSLR which has 14-bit RAW data. Assuming that SGP clamps its displayed values to 65k, then I will never see accurate max values when my camera data is larger than 4096 (in 14-bit space).

Is my logic correct, in that SGP is assuming that my DSLR is only 12-bit? If so, then I think SGP should add a parameter the Camera tab for the user to define the bit depth of the camera.
