Issue from last night's sequence - using V2.5.1.17

Last night was the first time using SGPro 2.5.1.17 using my newly homemade observatory and ran into several issue that I never experience before with previous versions of SGPro. I cannot upload the log from last night, it’s over 6.6GB, yes Gigi-Byte. Not sure how that can be and I can’t even open it. Anyway here’s what I experienced:

Equipment: CGE-Pro mount, SCT-8” scope, ATIK 383L+ OSC camera, TCF-S Focuser, Optec Pyxis 2”. Flat panel setup to use Alnitak and Arduino with Jared’s software, 600mm guildscope.

Target: M27, Dumbbell Nebula with a one panel mosaic with the rotation set to 25 degrees

  1. Started PHD2 and connected the guide camera and mount.
  2. Did PHD2 calibration and started tracking - OK
  3. Started SGPro and connected all the equipment – all connected OK, (Mount, Camera,
Manual Filter, Focuser, Rotator, Flat Panel).
    a. Camera temp set to -10
  4. Using H/C slew to M27
  5. Started sequence
    a. Slew to target, Yes
    b. Center on Target, Got stuck on on Sync – Needed to Restart SGPro
  6. Restarted SGPro and reconnected the equipment – all connected.
    a. Slew to target, Yes
    b. Center on Target, completed without any issues.
  7. Imaged until time to flip
    a. Flip started at 11:34
    b. Flip got stuck again during Sync – Need to restart SGPro
  8. Using the H/C slewed to M27 – now on the west side
  9. Restarted SGPro and reconnected the equipment – all connected.
    a. Slew to target, Yes
    b. Center on Target, Got stuck on Sync – Needed to restart SGPro
  10. Restarted SGPro and reconnected the equipment – all connected.
    a. Slew to target, Yes
    b. Center on Target, Completed without any issue
  11. Completed and mount was parked as requested
    a. Imaging completed - 45 as requested
    b. Darks – completed 15
    c. Bias – complete 15
    d. Flats – Completed but did not turn off the flat panel

Basically - Had issue with Sync, Flip and Flat Panel did not turn off.

It is suppose to be another clear night tonight. I’m planning on imaging M57 and will report back if I have the same issues or other. Hopefully, I can get a log that I can upload.

Follow up:

Ok, I’m finding out the Sync issue has to do with a software bug in the Celestron StarSense H/C. Apparently if the mount passes the Meridian and SGPro tries to do the Meridian Flip by issuing a Sync the sky model gets messed up. So the issue appears to be with Celestron.
