A delta HFR options should be available to determine when to autofocus. The user could then decide what kind of drift is acceptable on the HFR values before the auto focus routine is initiated. That way, the scope would only be focused when it is needed and not based on a time/guess or a temperature / guess value.

Technically if you’re hitting this delta then you’re already out of best focus. Also you’d probably need this to be highly variable depending on seeing. While I understand where this is coming from. I think it’s more problematic than it seems on the surface.

It would be a better trigger than just rely on time or the number of subs captured after the last autofocus. If the seeing changes, SGP would then pick it up and refocus right away and not wait until the alloted time has gone by or the number of subs has been captured.
