WHi all I am using a atik 16200 ccd on a 14 inch RC when I plate solve an object to a object I want to image it keeps failing
It seems to want to spiral search then nothing happens
PlateSolve2 works well if you are already close to the target but not otherwise. Suggest you set up Astrometry.net as a back up solver. It will take longer but solves anywhere in the sky. What I do if I’m going to a new target, is slew and then blind solve directly before doing the center operation. If you do the center now operation directly, it will try PlateSolve2 and then (possibly) fail and revert to Astrometry.net which takes extra time.
