PlateSolve2 Fails On 3rd Try

Last night I planned to image M104. During the centering operation SGP directed the capture of an image which PlateSolve2 then solved with a computed error of 128 pixels. After syncing and moving the scope, SGP directed the capture of a second image which PlateSolve2 then solved with a computed error of 74 pixels. Those steps were normal. The surprise occurred when SGP directed the capture of a third image and PlateSolve2 failed to solve it.

How can that be explained?

I then directed SGP to do a Blind Solve which succeeded in a minute or less.

I have never experienced this before. There did not appear to be anything unusual about the third image which PlateSolve2 could not solve.

Usually PlateSolve2 solves immediately and I have never had a case where it solved successfully and then failed to solve on the same subject field during a centering process.

Can anyone explain how this can happen?

Thanks,
Manning

I have seen that behavior before … once, it never re-occurred. I put it off to bad conditions or clouds.

In the meantme enable blind solve fallover

Oh and loosen up the tolerance a little.
