Run Away during Plate Solve / Centering

Tonight I started a sequence … the telescope went off to point to the target and the plate solve
routine started… it took one frame… centering was off by a few hundred pixels… and then when it
went to tweak the position the scope just took off !!! slewing dozens of degrees before I could hit STOP

I PARKED the scope and restarted the sequence… and everything just worked fine… as usual

I’ve never seen any behavior like this before … it sure made me a bit nervous about just letting
sequences run unattended …

any ideas or suggestions ???

Was your target past the meridian? Some scopes get confused if you cross the meridian and sync.

I left that out … OOOPS

I was 1hr 25min EAST of the Meridian

If you can post your log from the problematic run we can take a look.

I’ll go locate the log file… pin down the approximate time of the
event and then post it

Thanks

FYI… I’ve been doing astro photography for over 50 years… wrote AMOACP
and then after a 20 year hiatus due to myCassini workload I jumped back in
With my good ole Lismandy GM200 my setup time was 1 - 2 hrs … moving to
my Losmandy TITAN + GEMINI2 my setup time went down to about 30 minutes
When I got SGPro up and running that setup time went to about 5 minutes !!!
I am still totally amazed my the capabilities and performance of SGPro… It
just amazes me to no end to have such an amazing program !!! GREAT WORK
to you and your associates !!! Brad Wallis
