This would really help me sleep better at night, since we have to do the meridian flip manually (e.g. stop, move to west side target, wait, resume). If you forget any of these steps the scope hits the pier. So having an option to issue a stop tracking command when no light frames are running, would be very helpful (especially with mosaics!)
i agree, however, i think SGP is not architected for letting tracking stop before a meridian flip. Ken or Jared would have to chime in. i think they took a step toward allowing this during the 2.5 cycle but they ended up undoing it.
