Hi All:
The recent bug with the FMW had me finally upgrade to the latest version. I was on 2.6 something.
But I have a problem with my SBIG STL11002 CCD.
SGP v. 3.0.2.94 connects to it. Filter wheel seems fine. But any call to actually use the camera results in the following error:
SBIG Error while fetching customer options!:UNKNOWN_COMMAND
This is followed by a lengthy download period but nothing ever actually gets downloaded.
All seems as it should be in the Control Panel Camera page
All seemed fine until I upgraded. Ideas appreciated.
If I can’t get this figured, I guess the next step is to roll back to version 2.6.
Further to this issue, I tried connecting the STL on another machine, running v.2.5.1.7 and there was no problem using the camera. Definitely seems an issue stemming directly from my upgrade to v. 3.
Hi Terry,
So this means you cannot ever use your SBIG STL11002 CCD with SGP v3. or did one of the developers get back to you? There must be an easy fix for this and I hope the Main Sequence guys can help you.
Kirk
That error should be beguine, but sounds like it’s not. Unfortunately I no longer have my STL-11000 and the simulator seems to work fine here.
You may want to update your drivers. 4.72 is fairly old. I was running newer drivers with the simulator and the SBIG sim is generally a pretty good basis for how the actual hardware reacts.
Gianni:
Could you please tell me what version and build of SBIG drivers you are using.
This info will appear in the SGP logs immediately when SGP connects to the camera as in my log here . . .
Thank-you, Jared. I will begin the process of updating the drivers to have another try at SGP v.3 . . .
The error is not at all benign in my case. It stops the entire process dead in its tracks! Version 2.5 is fine though.
Pleased to report that all seems well with my STL and SGP v.3.0.2.94 after updating its drivers as reported here. No problems actually exposing with the camera now.
Thanks Jared, Gianni and Kirk for the sound advice and information!
