Very slow download canon t6i

I know this has been discussed several times in the past but did not find anything that actually helped. I’m running a Canon t6i and have consistently been getting download times that are equivalent to exposure times. If I take a 2minute sub, I have a 2 minute download. 5 minute sub, 5 minute download.

I’ve tried different file types and different cables, but nothing seems to change the pattern. Does anyone have an idea how to solve? Last night I did connect to APT and the download times were in line with what I would expect for 24mp camera.

Eric, check if the camera has Long Exposure Noise Reduction (that’s in the Custom Functions on my T2i) turned on. If it does, turn it off and see if the problem goes away.

It does. I had it turned on. As soon as my focus is done I will turn it off

The camera is taking a dark image that is the same duration as the light image in order to do the noise reduction.

Glad the problem went away.
