I like my Z. I can’t afford Maxim. Heard many great things about SGP on SGL. I want autofocus (preferably with nFocus) There is a new ASCOM Commander driver for :
iEQ30 (via RS232 port on mount)
•iEQ45 with an 8407 hand controller (via RS232 port on mount)
•iEQ45 with an 8406 hand controller (via RS232 port on mount)
•SmartEQ/SmartEQ Pro (via serial port on 8408 hand controller)
•ZEQ25GT (via serial port on 8408 hand controller)
•Mount with an 8401 hand controller (via USB port with CP210x driver installed)
I see in a similar post that SGP works with the IEQ45, which gives me hope, but ASCOM connects through a serial port in the 8408 HC. ASCOM works, Stellariumscope controls mount fine, Astrotortilla works, but I’d love to integrate more and add autofocus. I’d love to buy SGP , but need to have it work.
Best way to find out is to download the trial and give it a shot. As long as your hardware is ASCOM compliant then it should work just fine. Unfortunately the ioptron drivers haven’t always been compliant but they were addressing those issues.
