Below I describe a series of Plate Solve experiments I did with SGPro.  

First I try Plate Solves Using the internet.  Everything works as expected 

Next I try Plate Solves with the Internet turned off.  The ÒSolveÓ appears to work, but the 

	ANSVR Blind Solve fails

Here are my notes:


Initial Setup

	Start the Window 10 computer froom scratch

	Open SGPro and create a new sequence.

	Use Profile Manager to create a new Profile

	Create ÒBackyardÓ Profile, add geo coordinates and make profile the default 		profile

	Save and close

Open image  (Deneb)

	Examine Fits Headings 

		Contains site data (Lat. and Long.)

		Contains position data (RA and Dec.)

		Exposure info. (200 seconds)

		Contains Temperature Data (-20)

Open Image Statistics module:   
	
	Array size 3354 X 2529



View Control Panel

	Under Camera set Array Size and Image Scale  (Image scale 1.75 Arc Seconds/ 		Pixel)

	Close control Panel

Reopen Control Panel

	Astrometry Interface

		Go to Plate Solve Tab

		Set Plate Solving interface to Astrometry.net

		Open Setting (Astrometry.net (remote)  Press OK

		Open ÒBlind SolveÓ set Astrometry.net (Remote) Press OK

	Attempt Plate Solves of Image

		Right click on Image and select plate solve (RA and DEC are already 			populated)

		Add Scale 1.75 arc-seconds/pixel

		Press ÒSolveÓ  

		Image solves in 30 seconds  (Success)


		Right click on image and select ÒPlate SolveÓ  

		Press ÒBlind SolveÓ 
		
		Image solves in  39 seconds (Success)


		




		Try Plate Solve with less precise RA and Dec


		Right click on image and select Plate solve

		Round off RA and Dec values to just the Hours and the Degrees

			23  03 40 -> 23
			28 04 42 -> 28
			Add scale 1,75 arc seconds/pixel

	Press ÒSolveÓ 

	Solves in 37 seconds (Success)

Now switch to ÒPlate Solve 2Ó

	Set ÒSolveÓ settings

	Both APM and UCAC3PA show Status OK

	Image size is correct  98 X 74 Arc-seconds

	Close Plate Solve 2.29 dialog box

	Click on Blind Solve End Point is (Astrometry.net. (Remote))

	
	Right click and select plate solve

	RA and Dec are populated Enter scale 1.75 arc-seconds/pixel

	Press Solve  Plate solved in 4 seconds (Success)


	Right Click on image and select Plate Solve

	Press ÒBlind solveÓ  

	Solves in 37 seconds


	


	Try Plate Solve with less precise RA and Dec

	Right Click and select plate solve
	
	Round off RA and Dec values to just the Hours and the degrees

		23  03 40 -> 23
		28 04 42 -> 28
		Add scale 1,75 arc seconds/pixel

	Press ÒSolveÓ  

	Plate solves in 5 seconds (Success)

Go into settings and turn off internet connection.

Continue using Plate Solve 2 Interface


	Right click and select Plate Solve

	RA and Dec are populated Enter scale 1.75 arc-seconds/pixel

	Press ÒSolveÓ  

	Plate solved in 4 seconds (Success)

	Try Plate Solve with less precise RA and Dec

	Round off RA and Dec values to just the Hours and the degrees

		23  03 40 -> 23
		28 04 42 -> 28
		Add scale 1,75 arc seconds/pixel

	Press ÒSolveÓ  

	Plate solves in 4 seconds (Success)


	



	Click on Blind Setting

	Select ANSVR (Local Astrometry.net)  ANSVR is on port 8080)

	Click on Setting which opens Browser and configuration setting

		Time limit set to 1000

		Depth set to 30

		Click on Save and closed


	Right click on image and select Plate solve.  

	Click on ÒBlind SolveÓ

	Status bar says ÒUploading and solving (waiting on ANSVR) seconds........

	No solution found after 200 sec.  Press ÒAbort SolveÓ  (FAILURE)

	Open ANSVR Log window.
