While it is true that disabling smart focus would no longer reset your base focus position, it is also true that AF would continually fail because the rejection was so high it leaves you with almost no stars.

This bug should be unique to the beta and should be addressed in 2.4.3.9.

OK, so the position would not run away but it would still not focus. Will try .9 when it is ready.
