Difficulty connecting SGP with PHD2

Just before that I had typed this and got this response:
C:\Users\HP>netstat -aon | find “4400”
TCP 0.0.0.0:4400 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 10904

I tried starting SGP and PHD2 once more, and same result

thoughts on how to proceed?

Once again, what should I do next?

I played around some more and figured out how to tell Windows that PHD2 and SGP are allowed to pass data through the firewall.
I tried my real camera (on a random finder scope) and real filter wheel with a simulator mount. I also connected PHD2 directly to the SGP API Guider (ASCOM) and to the simulator mount. I got some response from PHD2; I could see that it had taken a single frame; SGP said it was beginning to calibrate the autoguider, and then after a long while, it gave up. Here is the last part of the log:

Thoughts?

Please don’t tell me you have given up trying to solve this!

No, but I have to sleep and spend time with my family too

This looks like a normal shutdown to me. Without having the rest of the context of the log it’s difficult to know what lead to this. Also if you’re using the API guider you may not want to disconnect everything at shutdown as that will remove the camera from PHD2…but it’s likely not what’s causing your issue either.

I would suggest leaving the equipment connected and running the netstat -aon | find “4400” command whenever there is a disconnect to see if the server is still up and reachable or not. We’ll need full logs to see what is going on and a corresponding PHD2 log would also be beneficial. You can use dropbox or similar to provide a link to them.

Today, for some reason, things seem to be working a whole lot better. Working at home, using a simulator for the telescope mount, and my actual SBIG camera and filter wheel aimed at bookshelves and such, SGP actually did connect to PHD2, and PHD2 did attempt to find a guide star. Of course it couldn’t do that. I really don’t know what I did differently this time from what I did earlier. I’m attaching the SGP and PHD2 logs.

For the logs they’ll either need to be emailed to support@mainsequencesoftware.com and referencing this post, or shared via a 3rd party app like dropbox (or similar).

They cannot be attached via email to this topic.

Thank you,
