Installed .457 this afternoon and with a brief opening in the clouds did a few tests. The one issue I encountered was with autofocus – which I have used successfully the last time the sky was clear (last fall sometime). I normally achieve a rough focus with a mask, then switch to autofocus to finish the job. Normally just outside best focus. I get a normal curve that finds focus, then for some funny reason it starts over at a smaller distance and walks further in. Gets a curve that gets further out of focus. Then back to the original location, runs another curve and abends with message ‘too many range shifts’. What is going on?
