In the past, these kind of issues were tracked to flip angle settings being too close to the meridian, in so much that different parts of the software system were on different sides.
What is curios to me I did not change anything to the mounts flip angle settings , nor anything in SGP.
To bad there is only one sentence with the information "ASCOM Telescope: Pier side is West "
though it is not clear to me if this is the current status right before pier flip or if its a part of the slew command for the new mount position.
Things happen, I just updated TSX and it wiped out my park position. In some other posts, these issues were due to the flip point being on the meridian. Any uncertainty should be removed by making it a few degrees.
Have you found a solution to your problem? I’m having the same issue where ASCOM is saying same pier side. I’m on the latest version of SGP using a Mach1-GTO4. Thanks, Keith.

It’s likely an issue with your mount and SGP thinking the meridian is in different locations. Try setting a value in SGP so that the mount tracks a couple of degrees past what SGP thinks is the meridian and try again. You can also attempt this manually by slewing past the meridian manually and then triggering a flip in SGP.
Also you may want to double check that your mount reports the meridian in about the same time that SGP is. There will likely be some “wiggle”. But essentially my guess is that your mount doesn’t think it’s passed the meridian yet and SGP thinks it has.
