I typically run autofocus before starting a sequence to ensure that focus is good. I have the option checked to pause guiding during autofocus. Tonight when I did a manual autofocus run before starting the sequence I noticed that PHD2 did not pause guiding. However, when starting the sequence PHD2 paused guiding as it should. Is this by design?
It is our current policy that none of those options apply out of sequence.
Do you mean “pause” (continue to expose but not issue corrections) or by “pause” do you mean also stopping guide exposures?
