Van den Bergh 7, 8, and 9

This was a really tough image of vdB7, 8, 9. It’s a 2 panel mosaic image, created with the Framing and Mosaic Wizard, and it totals just over 36 hours of exposure time. SGP makes planning mosaics so easy…I just wish the actual data acquisition was better! The color data was horrible for this. The LUM data was taken at a dark sky site so it was quite good. But the color gradients gave me fits.

Looks great, Joel! I would be very happy with that result.

How do you like your scope? I am planning to get a SV80ST with 2.5” feather touch focuser, but they are on back order for 3 or 4 weeks.

I love the SV80ST. I’m not making this up when I say I honestly believe I
have one of the best 80mm triplet refractors out there. I’d put it up
against anything. Absolutely no false color. Lens samples vary and I
think I got a very good one. You will be happy with a SV80ST if you get
one I’m sure.

You will love it!
