I’ve been working my way through the van den Bergh (vdB) catalog of reflection nebulae, which is a challenging target set from where I live. But I have greatly enjoyed capturing these objects. Next up is vdB158 which sits at the “head” of the very faint LBN534 in Andromeda. I captured nearly 19hrs on this one, necessary from my moderately light polluted skies.

By the way, how much light pollution are you shooting through. Do you happen to have any SQM readings?

Dave, I have some skyglow, especially to the north and west. A couple
years ago I had a SQM and if I remember correctly the reading was 19.5 -
20.5 or somewhere in that range. However, each year I can see the sky glow
getting a little worse.

Thanks for that. My SQM readings generally run from 19.5 to 20.0. So, good to see what is possible.
